After walking for a while, the dogs started to get a bit hot. Murphy was drinking from our water bottles, but Eddie kept refusing. So we decided to walk the dogs down to the Potomac River (the canal water wasn't fit to drink), this way maybe Eddie would drink from the water there. We had to keep the dogs on leashes, and once we got to a fresh water spot, Eddie just plopped down into the water - not even bothering to drink first. He rolled around in the water to cool off, and probably would have stayed there all day if we let him! He was in heaven!! 
Murphy, on the other hand, just went in deep enough to get his paws wet so he could get a drink. Murphy doesn't really like the water, so he certainly didn't plop down in it!
