After having to reschedule it from two weeks ago, we finally were able to successfully pull off a surprise 30th birthday party for Matt!! Matt had drill on Saturday morning. He then met me at Sears to do Dylan's 1-year pictures. After a little bit of stalling on my part, we then headed to my parents' house to "see Kevin & Alicia".... well that's when Matt walked into a SURPRISE! :)
Lots of friends and family came -- even from 4hrs away! It was wonderful to see everyone and spend some time catching up. :) Matt opened both his and Dylan's cards and presents. There were also a lot of friends and family from far away that wrote Matt letters/memories/birthday wishes, which I know he really appreciated. Although his favorite gift might have to be his new spoon collector box!!! (Did you know Matt collects spoons?) :)
Dylan had fun with the presents too.
Both Matt and Dylan were excited to see a CAT front-end-loader.
Dylan kept an eye on the cupcake I was holding. :)
He wanted it! I think he likes vanilla cupcakes best! :)
