18 month check up

Dylan had his 18 month check-up on Friday. Unfortunately he didn't get a full nap in prior to the appointment, therefore he was quite grumpy by the time the doctor came in! On top of that, he got FOUR shots! Boy did we have an unhappy camper on our hands that day. His poor arms were so sore too -- he didn't want to lift them at all. But he's back to normal now, so not to worry.

He continues to grow and change daily. I think he has a full set of teeth -- or almost -- I've lost count now. :) He certainly keeps us on our toes and is constantly on the go. He loves trucks and tractors -- he takes after Matt for that one. Oh and he loves balls -- but these had to be removed from inside our house since he throws them too hard at everyone and everything. It became a war zone in here! We are working on the concept of "roll it" with him... but he still thinks its more fun to throw! :) His appetite changes daily -- some days he eats more than Matt... other days, he is picky as can be. Although he always LOVES Goldfish snacks and can point them out in the cupboard from across the room! He definitely talks a lot more, but not in a language that many can understand. The "terrible twos" are just beginning.... he's starting to throw objects and occasionally hit, especially when he's tired or doesn't get his way. All of this is normal, but it can certainly be trying and tiring for me (at 7.5 months pregnant) as I try to keep up with him!

The doctor seemed pleased with his growth... it looks like he continues to take after me with his build. :)
Height: 34.5 inches (90th percentile!!)
Weight: 24lbs, 0.5 ounces (20th percentile!!)
No wonder he is growing out of clothes so quickly!!! I'm buying 2T stuff for him already!

His next appointment isn't until he's 2 years old. Our next big milestone is transitioning him to a big-boy bed in time for baby #2's arrival... wish us luck!
