Christmas Day

After Dylan and I visited the doctor on Christmas morning, we were heading back to the car when I accidentally dropped his prescription and the glass bottle shattered in the parking lot! Ugh! We headed back into the doctors and they wrote us another prescription. However, when we got to the pharmacy to fill it, we were informed that insurance would not cover a second prescription of the same medicine (since we had filled it a day earlier). So my carelessness would cost us $100 out of pocket!! My lack of sleep from the past few nights had been catching up with me and I couldn't hold back the tears. But Dylan needed the prescription, so without hesitation I agreed to pay it. We waited patiently for them to fill it and a little bit later were informed that the pharmacist had called the insurance company and was able to get them to make an exception!! I only had to pay a $10 copay! This time, tears of joy just kept flowing!! We are so grateful for that pharmacist who was working on Christmas who was willing to go out of his way to help me out. And for the insurance agent who agreed to make an exception!

Once back at the house, we had pancakes for breakfast/brunch and then got to open presents. Dylan was so cute, getting excited over each one "Oh wow!!" and "Oh cool!"

Parker had fun finding all the little scraps of wrapping paper and trying to eat them, and then run away from us so we couldn't catch him!!

 Dylan and Parker got completely spoiled this year!! Grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins all went above and beyond for these boys! And Santa spoiled ME this year too, by getting me an iPhone!!!! I was so excited!!!

 We went over my parents house to have a more intimate gathering with the family. Gia was dressed in a very adorable Christmas outfit, but kept hiding her face as she slept!

After all the chaos, we do feel very blessed. We enjoyed spending time with extended family and with our own family. We look forward to developing our own family traditions for Christmas -- hopefully minus a trip to the doctors!!
