About a year ago, my parents made a decision in which there was no turning back... my dad decided to retire from his job with the Archdiocese of Washington after 30+ years and become a police officer. The past nine months my dad has gone through some pretty difficult challenges in the police academy, but it was all worth it! He graduated last week!!
My brother Mike (who's already a police officer) was able to pin him.
Lots of people came out to support him at the graduation ceremony: all of the kids, all my mom's siblings (including family from GA!!), my grandparents, and some of my dad's friends and old co-workers. It was quite a turnout.
Congrats to my dad!! We are all so proud of him and his accomplishments. And not to forget my mom either for supporting him the whole way!!!
And what's even better is that today his picture was on the front page of the Metro section of the Washington Post! And this article was written about him on the second page!! Way to go dad!!
