Rock, paper, scissors -- Rock!

After Matt finished staining the deck, he wanted to finish it off by putting a small border of rock around it. This would prevent damage from the weed-whacker and prevent critters from getting underneath the deck. Matt prefers rock to mulch because it lasts longer and doesnt get blown away by the blower. So I went and got Matt and edger to help make the process go quicker and be more precise.

We also decided to rock off the area to the side of the house since this is a huge mud-pit and likely wont ever grow any grass. Matt edged it off...

We put some weed control fabric down.

The area was entirely prepped and ready for the rock delivery! The next morning while I was at work, Matt watched the dump truck arrive with the rocks.... but it was the wrong size for around the deck! So he ordered another truck load of correct rocks. That meant double the work in the same amount of time!

Thankfully my brother Paul had nothing to do and really wanted to come over and get a workout in. ;) Dylan and Parker watched them shovel the rocks into the trailer from the front window

And then would run to the back window to watch them empty it by the deck.

One pile down, one to go.

Since we weren't anticipated TWO truckloads of rock, we just dumped the extras in one spot.

Matt quickly prepped the area around the shed, and they put rocks around it.

I then decided I wanted the rocks from the first dumping zone to go near the shed. So Matt being an amazing husband, scooped them back up and moved them!

After working outside almost all day and with the help of my brother for a few hours, the rocks ended up looking really good. Here's the final pics:

So much nicer!!!! There's still some more rocks and edging to do around the fence, but it looks great! Way to go guys!
